Freaking out over this photo set!

Top: Current when she was only 2 with Holly. Look at her adorable rostrum and eye though, I can’t deal with her.

Second: Baby Cameleon with Holly? I assume but that dorsal looks way too sharky to be Holly so if someone wants to correct me, that’s cool.

Third: Surf, Holly, Havannah and baby Current again.

Bottom: The handsome Surf. He takes my breath away, he’s gorgeous!

Worried For Springer

As you may or may not know, Springer is an orphaned orca who’s mother passed away not long after giving birth to her. Luckily, Springer was given a second chance at life and was rehabilitated back into her extended family where she floated between pods. For the most part, she spent her days with her great aunt Yakat but when she wasn’t with the A4s, she was often seen with Havannah who became instantly maternal over the young orca.

Havannah is now dead and it has just been revealed that Yakat has died too.

Springer is an intelligent and capable young female who has blossomed into a wonderful adult. She adores the younger calves and is still as playful as if she were still a calf herself…

But I can’t help worrying about her. I’m so sure she’ll be alright… but she truly is alone now. I’m hoping Havannah’s little sister Holly can take care of her but it’s all so stressful. I don’t want her to go to Kelsey because Kelsey, as beautiful and adorable as she is, is a really horrific mother having lost many (I think 6) calves through not being cautious enough.

Let’s all keep Springer in our thoughts and prayers.

After my beautiful adopted whale Havannah passed away, very shortly after her little sister Holly gave birth to a beautiful new baby thus the saying ‘when one life ends, another begins.’ This is half to pay tribute to my wonderful whale but to also serve as a congratulations to Holly and her new born.
